EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT FOR THREE BROTHERS

Sarju, Rahul, and Sachin are brothers and their father is a gardener. With his limited income, it is extremely difficult to educate these boys and also take care of other needs.

During our interactions with Sarju and his brothers, we were impressed by their determination to get a good education and give their family a better life. Bright Rays has supported these brothers for over  a year with their educational needs. Our volunteers also consistently spent quality time with them to encourage and motivate them.

SUPPORTING CONSTRUCTION WORKER FAMILIES

Bright Rays volunteers have spent time, donated clothes collected from our Plano clothes drive, arranged ice-cream truck surprises and supported these construction workers with food for more than a year. 

They are always overjoyed to see Bright Rays volunteers and were extremely appreciative of the “fancy” clothes that they donated and other support they have received from Bright Rays. One of the construction worker fathers was so overwhelmed that he repeatedly told the Bright Rays volunteers that they were “Bhagwan (god)”. Though his words made us realize that our efforts over the years have truly made a difference to them, we were also saddened by the fact that they don’t even have the basic things that so many of us take for granted and that the people who support them are looked up to as “God”.
