An authorization hold is a practice within the banking industry of <\/span>reserving money<\/span><\/strong> at the start of a payment attempt to see <\/span>if the card is eligible<\/span><\/strong> for the purchase. <\/span>
The payment amount is being reserved, which may render the money <\/span>unavailable<\/span><\/strong> until the transaction is completed or cancelled<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Simplex takes funds from your account only once<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0your transaction is finalized<\/strong>.
<\/span>If your payment is not completed or is declined\/cancelled, we will immediately void the authorization hold from our end<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The amount reserved is then released to your bank account in 1 – 3 business days<\/strong> (not including weekends or other holidays, though usually it happens faster).<\/span>
Please remember that this hold is done by your bank<\/strong>, not by Simplex itself, so <\/span>we do not influence the speed at which your funds will be released<\/span><\/strong>. <\/span>

If, for some reason, the authorization hold is not released within <\/span>3 business days<\/span><\/strong>, please check the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Is the hold on the funds containing the word \u201cSimplex\u201d still visible in your banking statement?<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. How long has it been since you carried out a payment attempt?<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Were any weekends\/holidays included in the authorization hold period?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n


    If the hold is still visible after 3 full business days<\/strong> since your transaction failed, please contact our support team for further investigation. We will require a screenshot of your bank statement with the still visible hold for investigation purposes<\/strong>.<\/span>
